Newness in Relationships

In relationships so new
Sometimes things get in the way
'Cause just the smallest thing
Could ruin each other's day.
Still in the thougts of newness
As though one needs a savior
While walking upon eggshells
And being on best behavior
I'm sure you already know
You can't do that forever
And soon you'll both relax
Instead of being clever
And when that day does come
Seeing each other's many a fault
In your mind you'll be hoping
It won't cause things to halt
You learn each other's habits
Adapting through and through
With burps and farts, oh my!
Whatever will you do?
Well if you love each other
You'll see it's not so bad
They'll blow the covers off the bed
As you feign not getting mad.
They'll snore the whole night through
So you can't sleep at all
Because the house is shaking,
As pictures fall off the wall.
The laundry is on the floor
You tell them pick it up
And wonder to yourself
Why you don't want to give up
They embrace to give a kiss
After eating food with onions
And just before you faint
They step right on your bunyons
Well I suppose that's life
When they forget to feed the cat
But if you truly love each other
It will take far more than that!
