Total Peace of Mind

A poem of total peace
The safe place in my mind
Calm seas of no caprice
All cares are left behind
Emotion rests so still
Analysis at bay
Concerns reduced to nil
And worries drift away
My dreams to keep me safe
Things difficult surpassed
No evidence of chafe
With total peace at last.
Author's Notes: Has the presence of an irritant in your life ever caused you so much grief, that when it was finally gone, the contrast between the prior difficulties and the newfound relief was so incredibly great that you realized you had almost forgotten what it was like to feel peaceful? It is this type of situation that inspired me to write this poem.
