Analogies

Age Group: Adult
Analogies,
Hard to accept,
But if they are true,
Perhaps you're adept.
Patterns of life
They all are the same
Some strong, some lame,
Innocent or with blame.
Once you can see
The patterns that be
Only then can you flee
And set your soul free.
At such a young age
You are so much a Mage
And this I do know,
Forever to show:
You'll certainly change
This world so strange
Ignorance is not so much bliss
But let me say this,
I thank you sincere,
I'm so glad you're here,
Among the most sane,
Thank you, L---J----.
Author's Notes: Inspired by a young poetess on this forum who seems to have already recognized how to pay attention to ideas, thoughts, feelings and concepts for the purpose of seeing the bigger picture and understanding how to make them work in the real world where so many solutions and resolutions have yet to be discovered and fulfilled for the benefit and harmony of the human race.
I thought it might be interesting for me to include my favorite definition of the word "analogy" here, taken from my handy-dandy trusty source of linguistic appropriateness that I'm not quite sure I could write poetry without, dictionary.reference.com:
analogy: a form of logical inference or an instance of it, based on the assumption that if two things are known to be alike in some respects, then they must be alike in other respects.
I like this definition because it forms a thought provoking premise of Magick, suggesting that things like logic and imagination, or perhaps the mundane and extraordinary, or even science and religion, can be brought together such that the combination creates something entirely new.
