Just Be Yourself!

by Phronesus Disegno

Age Group: Adult

Nothing wrong to be
Just be yourself
You are such a gentle soul.
Some may not understand,
Teach yourself that you are whole.

They may not agree
That's fine with me
But It's their choice, not mine.
I will be myself
I'm a creation of my own design.

I do what I want
I be who I am
I dont have a need to fit in.
They can like me or not
What you see, you have got!
I have always been who I've been.

The more I know
The more I show
I don't care if they give a damn.
I'm free to be
Myself, I'm me!
I'm the only one who is who I am.

And I understand
They may not agree
But there are souls who help me through.
Some people may like me
And some may not,
But Blessèd! are those who DO!

Author's Notes: Never fail to know who you are, and then be who you are. It doesn't mean forcing anyone to like you, it only means letting them like you for who you are on their own terms, with thier own decision. In fact, be more of yourself than you already are. Compromise will always be necessary in all relations, but believe me, if you are yourself and someone likes you, then they like you for who you really are; and bending just a little will be effortless as long as they will bend too. It must go both ways.

You must never fail yourself, because if you do, it complicates succeeding for anyone else to no end. And the first step is always liking yourself, even for the things that others may not like. If someone likes you, just let them. If they don't like you, so what? It's a statement on their behalf, not yours. You never did anything wrong to them.

Give yourself time to learn, and you will find, you are really okay! just the way you are. The Mage has spoken. Okay, I'll get off the soapbox now. :-) hee-hee (I like soapboxes. Whoops! I just slipped on the soap and fell on my behind... So, that's the way it is.)
