Happy Prayer for Springtime

Age Group: Adult
If there is a God
And a Goddess above
And right here with us
And who give us love,
If they hear me now
I've just one plea
That will surely come true
Regardless of me...
As the seasons change
And as Spring comes near
At least where I live
In the Northern Hemisphere,
If they hear me now
I have something to ask
Although it will come
As a scheduled task:
We've had our Winter
And splendid it was,
For it needs to occur
For the things it does,
But God and Goddess
Of ancient times of old
Hurry up with Spring,
'Cause my footsies are cold!
Author's Notes: Happy Imbolc!
Not only is that candle good for celebrating Candlemas, but I have found that if you light enough of them within an enclosed room, they can actually help warm up the room.
You think I'm kidding? A few Winters ago we had an unusual ice storm that took out the electricity for a week, and all I had were candles to keep warm. Using a thermometer, I found that the temperature in my enclosed bedroom increased by one degree Farenheit for each candle I lit for warmth. Of course, it also helped to sleep in a jogging suit with plenty of covers because I didn't want to fall asleep while the candles were burning.
But a word of warning if you do this: Try to space the candles equally around the room, because if you put them all in one place like I did, the insignificant amount of smoke that naturally rises from them will become significant enough to discolor the ceiling directly above where the candles are sitting. So now I have what looks like a large slightly stained spot on my ceiling in my bedroom.
Perhaps this was all too much information? hee-hee But it's a true story. Again, Happy Imbolc!
