Mother's Pain

Mother Earth cries out in pain
As we abuse her yet again.
As axes swing and saws chew wood
As pristine forests we denude.
Mother Earth cries in dismay
As we allow her to decay,
As we ignore her pleas to cease
As we spread round the greed disease.
Mother Earth cries in despair
As we pollute her healthy air,
As we turn blue skies into gray
As we defile her every day.
But Mother Earth knows there is hope
There are those who’d help her cope.
There are those who’d love her dear
There are those who’d have no fear.
Mother knows these folk are true,
And in their hearts know what to do.
And in their hearts they’ll fight for her
And in their hearts rebellion stirs.
They will fight for Mother Earth
The one who gave them spiritual birth
The one who gave them gifts so rare
The one who made them so aware.
It’s up to those who care enough,
Who do not mind if it gets rough,
To help our Mother heal again.
And take away her crying pain.
And so it’s up to you and me,
To help our Mother, set her free.
To make her whole and love her dear
And dry up all her flowing tears.
