Winter Walk with the Goddess
I amble around
The flooded fields
As icy raindrops pelt my skin.
I am surrounded, filled by you,
I sense you there
Embracing me.
You are the mighty mountains
Cloaked in drifting mist,
You are the oozing earth
That slips beneath my feet.
You are the momentary tears
Caused by the gusting winter wind,
You are the raindrops turned to sleet,
Which sting my face on
Their downward dive.
My dog has bounded on ahead
Intent on some new hidden trail.
I am alone – but not.
For with you,
I am quite complete
As we walk together
In the beauty of this
Cold, grey, rainy day.
