Neo-Witch Hunters

by Annalegra

[WVox Sponsor]

Age Group: Adult

And so they yell out
“Burn the books”,
As once they shouted
“Burn the witch”.
And still they are
Convinced that fire
Will rid them of
That Pagan itch.

Do it our way
praise our God,
They scream aloud
in full furor,
They do not
want to listen
to any of
our Pagan lore.

They never try
to understand
The natural things
we like to do,
Our reverence of
Nature and
our love of
all life too.

They think there’s
only one road,
to walk ones way
through life.
They cannot see
the other paths
that in our
world are rife.

But don’t be
angry with them,
For they don’t have
eyes that see.
They have deaf ears
That only hear
The things they
Want to be.

They’ll never know
the liberties
which we Pagans
know so well,
They are just like
Pavlovs dogs
when they hear their
Sunday bell.

They are ignorant
of freedom
to converse alone
with Deity.
they do not understand us
when we
say that we are free.

They say we love
their devil,
They say we
must be bad,
They say that we must
all be saved
and for that we must be glad!

So when we hear
them yelling for
another thing
they want to burn,
we must stay strong,
with heads held high,
and their caustic
taunting spurn.

And so we live our
Pagan lives,
Alongside the ones
Who cannot see.
We’ll not be quelled
this time around,
we’re here to stay,
So Blessed Be!
