May Morn

Age Group: Adult
The smell of dew was lingering
Damply in my nose,
As I watched, while o’er the mountains,
Our Lord Sun slowly rose.
Proudly did the May dawn,
Amid a salmon sky
While I, watched on in awe
As His newborn rays shone by.
Humbled, felt I, as he rose,
His power growing strong
With summer finally birthed,
I felt, I knew where I belonged.
I was at one with deity,
My inner self felt peace,
The warmth of Lord Sun’s infant rays
Made chilly shivers cease.
And as He rose yet higher,
Bathing me with light
I knew the path I walked upon
For me was just as bright.
And now I sit, just gazing,
At the beauty all around,
The colors, morning fresh
Unite with feathered sound.
Now this year’s spring is over,
And the summer has begun.
The Lord and Lady are now wed,
The two became as one.
So now, I sit in solitude,
Watching May begin,
I reflect upon the inner peace
I feel so deep within.
