The flame dancer...

She dances, moving her body to the beat of the drums, the ever beating and flickering wave, the never ending song...
She pulls her body into painful twists and positions until they become as natural as breathing...
Until she can hold her head high and say that she can do anything... If only for a little while...
For thought the beat is like that of a heartbeat, it is still as fleeting as a life in reality, as a life belonging to a human, a tiger, a dolphin, like a true live animal... but it shall never live...
Even though it mocks us with it's never ending energy and seeming life, it's warmth and ever burning vigor, it's... life... it still only mocks us, still can only hope...
And so does she, dancing, twisting, turning, flipping, breathing, burning, trying her best to imitate what she so craves, yet can never have...
Dancing on the tip of existence, not alive, yet not wanting to give up just yet, always holding on to the edge of sanity, reality, hope...
She can only hope for a life, for a heart, for a real feeling, a real desire... she can only hope, for a dream to be real...
Ever dancing on the edge, she wonders, what may happen if it never happens...
But she never gives up hope, never stops believing, never stops aching for the day, when she can truly feel the ache she so wants, the pain she so desires, the need she craves to be real, the need to be real, she can only hope to one day crave... and it all comes down to her, dancing in the flames of eternal hope, never leaving...
And when the flame is burned out, so too, is extinguished, her hope of ever finding reality...
