Growing
by Singing Crow
Age Group: Adult
An apple tree is growing strong,
The roots are setting thick and long.
This sapling is becoming a solid trunk,
You’ll soon tap it and hear a “thunk”.
The young leaves are growing green,
Branches stretching; gradual; serene.
From a tiny seed its taken its form,
As the rain keeps it moist and the sun keeps it warm.
Against the wind it stands, does not sway,
Growing mightier, fuller by night and by day.
And soon the blossoms will become apples sweet,
Their succulent pleasure we together we will eat.
Author's Notes: This poem touches many aspects of life that I love: the trees, the male and female halves of nature and humanity that together make life, the endureance and timelessness of our beliefs, I wrote this poem before I was even officially wiccan, it just made sense: love making life
