A Spirit Dreams

A Spirit Dreams
One sunny day I climbed to the top of a cloud covered mountain
Upon reaching the summit I laid my head down for a rest
Shortly there after I drifted off to sleep
And as I did I started to dream
A dream so foreign at first I was startled
A dream where I was being born as a babe
A world so strange and unknown to me
A world of violence and tragedy
I dreamed of a childhood ever so harsh
I wanted very badly to wake up
But try as I might
The dream continued on
I dreamed of a world of chaos and strife
Where people were mean to each other
Where death at the hands of another was common
Where love was forsaken by so many
What a horrible dream I thought
Where Mother Nature was raped by the masses
A dream where the rivers ran foul
A deep shiver ran through my spirit
I dreamed of becoming an adult
And being forced abroad to kill my brothers and sisters
I dreamed of being informed by those in charge
This is your duty, do it with pride
Oh what a horrible dream
A dream of a place without hope
A nightmare pretending to be reality
Such a forlorn dream, I wanted to wake up
I dreamed of those who wanted to escape
People who wanted no more of the same
Desiring a peace which was out of reach
A minority in a world of madness
Suddenly from within the depths of my spirit
A shout of no erupted, this world is not for me
And happily I woke up
Back in the Summerlands where I reside
I ran to the Goddess, my loving Mother
Before I could speak She smiled and said
It was just a dream my child
But even from dreams we can learn.
