I can't let you go

I've realized a few things
reached clarity in my mind
come to a few decisions
about the life I leave behind.
The little girl lost
has found her way home
along a desserted road
no longer left to roam.
I have just noticed how
I can't seem to let you go
with the touch of your hand
and all the love you've shown.
You are my protector, my best friend
when I think of you dear
I have a smile that stretches from ear to ear.
