One step closer...

As I sit here waiting
*tic toc, tic toc*
on the brink of ushering in a New Year
*tic toc, tic toc*
it brings me closer to fulfillment
*tic toc, tic toc*
of my immediate desires.
*tic toc, tic toc*
(silence)
What's that...the clock's stopped...
time has stopped...
"Your time is at an end, "
(the voice whispers in your ear.)
Then the rushing whirlwind fills you
with its deafening, terrifying silence
as all sense of space, and time, and life
dissipate.
"The time for honoring yourself is at an end."
Your past misdeeds have finally caught up with you
and you will now reap the full measure of your Karma.
You continued down the path of your own design,
of your own self-destruction,
against all advice and admonitions,
from the only real friend you've ever had,
only thinking of yourself,
and YOUR selfish best interests.
NO MORE shall you have control over others,
when you don't even have the discipline
to control yourself.
The Shadowwalker is set loose...looking for you...
Death is stalking you,
looking over your shoulder,
waiting to reach out to tap you,
to take you to your judgment,
and there, impassive, unsympathetic, unfeeling
your jury waits for you to explain your actions.
There, your worthiness will be decidied,
your fate is in their hands.
And I am one step closer to freedom.
