Hymn to the Earth Mother
by Rain Feather
Age Group: Adult
I am the goddess
Of all the shrines
Save all that is
The Queen of Nine
By ruins and opened
tombs to observe
I am the Great Goddess
Through you I have stirred
Through the soils
On Earth
Through the winds
Of the sky
I have traveled through
many years
Of day and of nigh
I am Gaia
Of the mountians
And the plains
Pregnant and full
Above and below
I have come again
And of every nocturnal
creature I guard
An epoch of time
Save the lyrical bards
Of each male and female
Of each bitch and brood
Take to my secrets
And silent the waters
subdued
And we shall be
The bringer of the seasons
And the giver of good gifts
Swiftly I will go
to where I often shift
Salvage what is needed
For the torch is gripped in my hands
Dear child listen and
understand
A maiden I am
Sweet as a spring flower
A mother I am
Giving birth every second, minute and hour
A Crone I am
A hag of the Earth
Expanded in visions
And of Rebirth
Absorb all that is
And all that ever was
Through the past and the future
Sister and Wife of God
In the womb of silence
Of Evolution and Devolution
I am the scales of directions
and resolutions
I am the moon of triplicity
Rejoice in this hymn
Oh Yah
Breath of my breath
Oh Yah
Song of my song
Oh Yah
Corn of the field
Become the key
And the shield
Save the symbol
That is sealed
And rise up, nourish
all to heal.
No end to mortality.
Whatever I am,
A woman, a man,
a lotus, an image across the world spanned. I am the
sojourner of the body of dusk and dawn. Go than and look , this ecstasy mine in death and onto life.
