Venom

Age Group: Adult
There is a venom of a mysterious kind
My body a tree seeps and weeps
The sap of many wines
My eyes lift and rise to the sky
Where I find the moon, my mother
A gentleness and safety resurrects then
My heart lifts and leaps and my soul sings again
Unloosed are her bands of tightness giving way
That opens this portal and through it I say,
I thirst for your nectar to satiate my tongue
Your silken white path to my mortality has come
And though I have many doors to open still
It is quiet in this halo, your moonbow
Yet I feel your wild liquid rush
As the warrior on the earth
And blood spillings forth gush
At the end, there is the key
Of birth and immortality.

Author's Notes: This poem I wrote about a personal awakening I had where I experienced a drawing down the moon and the connection I made through her.
