Dancing Across the Stars

by Stewart Bitkoff
 Age Group: Adult

In death, the reason for life is contrasted and more visible. For most, passing of the physical body is necessary for the lessons to be learned. The universe is in motion, constantly changing, supported by spiritual energy, and recreating itself according to various designs. This is our destiny as well. And when this possibility is taken from us, even momentarily through the passing of a loved one, our opportunity for learning is magnified.
To the poet, life is like an afternoon at the shore. The sunlight, ocean spray, sand, and multitude of sea creatures are to be enjoyed. We come for a few hours, with family and friends and experience the many different sensations; then return renewed to our other duties and life.
In the sunshine, as we rest and concentrate on the motion of the ocean waves, they remind us of our lasting nature. We are children of spirit who came into this realm to enjoy the brief experience, learn, work, serve and move on. Passing of the physical body is necessary for the spiritual lessons to be learned; our lasting nature is spirit and like the universe, we continue to evolve upward.
The body is a biological wonder of nature and evolution, yet, derives its driving force or energy from Universal Spiritual Energy. This magnificent, efficient, and highly complex, conscious organism is created, has work to do then returns to the elements from which it came. This cycle exists to remind us of our relationship with the Divine. We are here for a brief afternoon in eternity, have work to do, help create reality and move on to other adventures.
In time for most, the pain of a loved ones death is replaced with peace, acceptance and knowledge.
Yes, we are children of spirit, and our lasting nature dances across the stars. SB
