Brigid's Fiery Arrow

FIERY ARROW
Young Maiden of the Spring
The ewe songs send me traveling
Through the dead trees of the wood
As the darkness of his hood
I looked into Lugh's golden eye
And merged as the shiny pearl on high
And there by fire brightness came
Adorning her head a halo of flames
Into the grove
Where strummed the sounds
Though her winters wedding girth
A beat that set the lava flowing
So deep within the earth
And then the chant of candlemas
Brought sparks that raised the flames
The spark of life, alive and whole
A balance of Annwyn to sustain
Brigid come
To sing your song of change
Past the winter gale
Brigid come
Protect us now
To you now we hail
Brigid come
Your cross is woven
Interlaced through our coven
Brigid come
With your white willow wand
To which you know we all are fond
Brigid come
The cauldrons are brewing
The serpent wraps
Your shawl is blueing
And to the Swans of white and black
The ewes and lambs of spring come back
Directly North, East, South and West
The mighty gale and hills abreast
Directly North, East, South and West
The Glowing Embers and waves that crest
Raise her Sword
And raise her shield
The Triple Goddess
Each revealed
Rock to metal
Sickness to health
The spiral dance
Transforms with stealth
Ancient Mother
Rising Flames
Shine upon us
Through your many names
Lady of the Shores
Lady of the Dawn
Lady of the Sacred Springs
Birthing of the ewe and fawn
I am your shores
I am your dawn
I am the sacred spring
I am the ewe and the fawn
Birth in everything.
Brigid of the undying flame
The Taro and the Lark they came
Breo Saighit across the land
Near the seashore
Hand in hand.
