Sadako's Hymn

I sit by the window
folding, turning
over mountains, under valleys
inside and reverse
What can these hands do
but give life?
She cannot see, she cannot sing
But a song is sealed
in every fold
This peculiar practice
of papyrul meditation
aquiline geometry
Yet she speaks for me, as I cannot
peace
love
flight
Author's Notes: Stream-of-consciousness impulse draft. I have a ridiculous obsession with folding paper cranes; I probably fold anywhere between 5 and 20 every day.
