The Bridge

Age Group: Adult
Old rickety wooden bridge
Held only by frayed twisted ropes
Crossing it may bring me death
Yet I have heard the lamentations of life
All hell will break loose if I stay
And I may hear the tearing, ripping sounds
I can not look back...I must break away
My oath to the Lord and Lady is bound
With each step the bridge sways
The wind picks up swiftly
The strategy then is...to go forward or stay
Beneath me is the vortex of decay
Below me is the deep murky water
Above me is the darkened sky
And nature shape-shifting
in the blink of an eye
Into another world where I
I am the mantra to each poem
I am the chanting that rises the cone
I am the wounded and the healer
I am the witches secret concealer
To the fearful and fearless
To be consorted as mercury its core
The bridge that leads to the gate of more
That leads to the five and then points four
Between this twixt of the sun and moon
The distance apart came for us to soon
Sweet love stay where you are
The distance of the bridge is long and to far
Old rickety wooden bridge
