Goodbye, my sweet love…

by Beoluth
 Age Group: Adult

“Goodbye, my sweet love, ” echoes in my mind, dusk to dawn, daybreak to twilight. The finality of intent, finality of your leaving. Your lingering kiss Haunting my dreams, Devouring each waking moment. I wallow In the brief memories Wondering if it was real Or if my mind created it all. Did I believe Only what I wanted, Hope against hope, Knowing the inevitable? JOY- In having found an equal, my soulmate, Who’s depth and passion Finally matched my own. SADNESS- Mourning the fleeting glimpse Of a dream that became a reality If only for a moment. Joy and sadness Mix into melancholy, My inner turmoil Visible for all to see. Easter Sunday came and went and you with it. That day my soul was condemned, my heart damned, to an eternity, aching, bleeding, for you, just beyond reach, elusive, as you have always been.
Hearing your voice again Stirred my soul to Impetuous thoughts of Showing up on your doorstep. But the reality is You are with him And never left him. I chuckle at the thought of kitties in hotel rooms (and the look on your face) and wonder at what private hell you are going through to exist and survive. You hinted at what you have done In the past And I remember you… And what you felt you had to do here, Night after night, Face after face, Car after car, And I wonder… If it could have been different. I would die for you, you know. A part of me already has When you left. But I will not tread Where I am not wanted, Where I am not invited. So, I sit wondering… What the future holds for each of us. See you in Tibet, maybe?
