Never Felt More Right

Everything I ever wanted
I always thought would never be.
I'd search in vain to be fulfilled
And wait for love to come to me.
I never thought the hand of fate
Could ever cause two souls to touch.
And though it seemed a fairy tale
I never thought I asked too much.
And so I wandered day by day
Creating walls and wasting time.
I'd write about a broken heart
and try to make the verses rhyme.
I'd never known love at first sight
And always thought it fantasy,
did not believe that I could feel
until the day you came to me.
I turned around to see your face
and somewhere bells began to chime.
And as we shared our first embrace
I knew love waited all this time.
As you are lying in my arms
we share our feelings in the night.
I'm so afraid of being wrong
but know love never felt more right.
And as the morning starts to break
I watch you dreaming peacefully.
You won't be lonely when you wake,
and if you choose, for all eternity.
As you lay sleeping in my arms
My heart is singing with delight.
