It's the Loneliness

Cheap cologne and stale cigarettes
Neon strobe lights flash in the gloom
Half dresses dancers doing pirouettes
Half drunk men take them to a room.
I don't know why I even bother to try
Or should I even care?
It may be wrong to try to justify
But it's the loneliness that brings us there.
I can say I have no regrets
This is something I emphasize
'thought I've never found my Juliet
Sometimes I make a compromise.
I don't know how I could even allow
My soul to feel dispair.
It may be wrong to try to justify
'cause it's the loneliness that brings us there.
You keep feeling the hunger
of the never ending pain
'till your heart feels like thunder
and there's nothing left to gain.
You believe in the magic
but you know it's just a game.
Flashing lights making silhouettes
as the dancing becomes profane.
I'm so tired of these vignettes
It's enough to drive you insane.
I don't know why I even bother to try
Or should I even care?
It may be wrong to try to justify
But it's the loneliness that brings us there.
