Awakening
by Reverend Mia Backus
Age Group: Adult
One small bud
refused to unfurl,
bemused with the wind,
warm in her world.
Then came a drop
of sweet morning dew.
Opened a bit to taste it,
sunkissed, she was you.
Neither full bloomed, nor sleeping,
blushed pink in the light,
you are hope that arises
in the days of youth’s life.
Author's Notes: My oldest Daughter, Danielle, is a magick filled wonderment. This describes a moment of her.
