Sorrow

She walks alone down
A forgotten dirt road—
Tears lost to time—
Thoughts lost to yesterday—
Blind to tomorrow.
Dust hangs about her,
Caresses her skin—
A forgotten treasure.
She cares not for
The mud on her face,
The mud in her eyes,
The mud on her sleeve.
She floods this lane
With an endless rain
Of memories and moments.
And still she walks,
Alone in the dust
Of what might have been—
Tomorrow will never come.
