Searching for a Reason

I'm so tired of being here
here in this lonely place.
Alone in the dark with my fears
if only I could be in your embrace.
The screaming inside is deafening
the pain is just so unreal.
Can't anyone tell I'm hurting
or do you even care what I feel?
Each day here grows more difficult
not sure how long I can last.
If you could just show me exult
and show me that I'm not lost.
I've tried not needing you
making it through on my own.
I need you here to turn to
or just to hear your voice on the phone.
Just say you care for me
tell me I would be missed.
I need to hear it from thee
before I cut at my wrist.
