The Maidens Meadow

The Maidens Meadow
As I sat deep in thought
A mental image I was brought
A fair maiden robed in green
With ivory skin and auburn hair
We were in a forest,
On a path made for me
Twisting through the giant trees
With a moments hesitation I began
The forest wrapped around me like a glove
As birds and squirrels chattered in the canopy above
The path opened up into a wide meadow
Where people sat and talked
Here I stopped as the maiden spoke to me
‘Such perseverance you have shown this day,
From the pat you did not stray
A might sense of faith for one so young
Though you journey has just begun
Continue on your own path from here’
And as she laid a kiss upon my brow
She gently spoke ‘awaken now’
And now I think about the next time
When the maiden will return to take my hand
And we will walk through Summerland.
