Solace of the Written Page

I find solace in the written page-
Life is peaceful, love abounds, there is no
rage.
On the page love is real, love is true-
No matter what I say...no matter what I do.
It is there my hopes and fears matter most-
On the page I don't feel like a faceless
ghost.
On my paper, no one walks away-
they really care how I feel-
They hear what I have to say.
In my pages, I'm never alone-
And no one has a heart of
Stone.
On the page I am safe...protected well-
For me my love would fight
demons from hell.
My soft heart would never be broken-
Angry words would never be spoken.
Yes, the written page brings the love
want to feel.
On the page true love is real.

Author's Notes: I have to hide true feelings and be happy and perky for those around me because they just don't understand. On the page, I can say what I want to say...feel what I need to feel...be who I am. On the page, I am free.
