Wandering

Searching, wandering all across the world
I am dead and broken, yet still I search.
The rocks cut my hands, where I try for a hold.
They slice my feet wherever I step,
the blood draining from me marks my past.
My heart is torn from my chest,
the empty space is so cold
It pulls me in with silent screams, deep into that black night
Tears run unnoticed down my face, my lips form the words,
but the hurt and the pain and the disappointment I feel
covers me like a death-shroud, never to lift.
Do you hear my voice, calling your name?
Do you notice that I am crying? Do you even see me at all?
My heart and my mind are darkened by the moment,
I wish for your healing touch, for one small embrace,
for just one moment in your arms, where I know I am safe
My eyes close at the thought, the memory, the wish.
The strongest desire in my life, to be yours, to be wanted...
When they open again, I am still all alone,
clinging to the cliff where my hands and feet bleed,
where my heart is absent, and my soul cries out.
You are not here, you cannot comfort me. I am alone,
and ever will be.
