Damaged Blessing

Uncertainty to accusations
Born without an extra hand
It wasn’t hatred when learned of
It was uncertainty
New face changed the mind
Even though she bore you
I felt that you were mine.
Before the first look,
Empty was all there was
Born within security, I was
If nothing had been taken,
Would I have ever known you?
Sometimes her actions are blind
But you came to be…
Yet somehow, you’re unlike me
Love is the emotion
Protection now and forever offered
Four years and life’s already hard
Only time foretells character
To want what’s best
No matter…
As long as you’re alive
Mi sangre es su sangre
That’ll never change
And for that fact
You shall stay in my heart
I will love you forever
No matter what
Even if for your hate,
I will always dismiss
For now, you are my precious one
And you are my prayer.
Author's Notes: This is for my four-year sister that my mom bore out of wedlock. I just wanted her to know that even though her father's hardly in her life, she'll always be loved and wanted.
