the brotherhood of fear ( not poem thoughts)

by Lee Gray

Age Group: Adult

As my grandfather told me stories when I was young. I was taught the nature of fear and how all bad paths start from it.
In the language of the Cherokee names like running dear or barking dog are one word; the action is part of the name and sleeping dog would be a completely different word.
The whole of the language Deals in pictorial symbolism and its words are meant to describe a picture and evoke an emotion. It is understanding this that we know why Native Americans boys that were considered men to the tribe were called Braves .It was the only word in English that meant (one without fear) one word one pictorial thought. After a Brave had proven not only his fearlessness he worked to become wise. And only after he had proven his wisdom and bravery did he become a chief in the tribe. Chief was one who actions were governed by wisdom and not a reaction of fear or threats, as a child is driven by fear .If you demanded something of a brave or chief he would sooner die than give in to threats. But if you were to ask him, and he agreed, his honor bound him to the task. This is Why Europeans Said Native Americans Were Uncivilized because they could not be made to do what they did not choose to do of their own free will.
Chief was not a title you were born into or bought like European Nobles (note; Who were very seldom noble) . This title was earned and given only by the tribe, no one could demand it. And unlike Europeans, Native American tribes had many chiefs in one tribe .No single voice on decisions. The chiefs would gather on council to decide on matters of great importance. These councils would make decisions to best help the tribe not the Few selfish nobles or politicians.
It is hear that the term (God Fearing Christian ) One pictorial thought , and to the Native Americans it sounds like "Cowardly man who has fear and fears his god "and his decisions are flawed by fear or dictated out of fear . this is a man whom wisdom is more chance than fact and who follows a god that they live in fear of and intends to harm them. Who would want a god that intends them harm. Who would follow a man who is cowering in fear or who has fear in his hart? a person acting in fear is insane . His decisions are forever dictated out of fear. Being as we only hate what we fear than we must also have fear of what we hate. To show Hate we show fear and to have fear is to be unwise . In fact to fear god you must also hate him.
Europeans are raised in fear , Governed by group insanity educated in what to fear and told to be brave and go destroy this fearful thing. And It is nature to fear or be wary what we do not understand , and so Europeans destroyed A good Many Things out of fear. Within just a 100 years of colonization of America a European population 1/20 the size or the original Native population had eradicated all the elk on the east coast , most of the bears with the exception on the small black bear and nearly all predators like wolves , panther and so many other species of bird and mammals . Mostly driven by fear . Why did the Native American population not eradicate them They did not live by fear. Being able to destroy something does not make you superior, and destroying something you fear only shows your weakness to fear.
For wisdom and sanity We must try to understand what this person, animal, item or thought is about. now if it is truly Dangerous to the tribe lets gather in wise council and make only wise decisions about how we should deal with it. Not go off with Insane fear striking at all that we do not understand , acting in fear to our own determent . It is unfortunate That the Native American voice or wisdom Is lost In America culture .
Where Is the American Culture , The united tribe of states today . Our Politicians feed us fear and most Americans make decision out of fear . Hurry this sale won’t last, fear of missing out on good deal coupled with greed. fear of Blacks, fear of immigrate , fear of gays , and now fear of Arabs
Are we in Iraq out of wisdom or were we driven there by fear. Who is winning? not the America public, not Iraq people. Just the Big Money Bush Cronies And fear mongers Who are getting rich and powerful. When this nightmare is over we the tribe "We the people" will suffer from this unwise war. With great public dept and another generation of vets with shattered bodies and minds that will never feel the glory of the war, only empty hopeless lives they will come home to . They will waste away on $800 to $1200 an month forgotten by the government and public at large. Yes Forgotten and cursed with poverty and depression. This will be far less than the Billions Bush and his Corporate cronies will have to comfort them as relax in secure million dollar estates that we the people paid for. There the children of privilege will not know the horror of war and suffering. And Reinstating the draft will not effect these children of privilege; As we have seen Bush Jr dodged the whole event, event after his unit was activated.
Now "we the people" the tribe are to blame, reacting out of unnatural fear and without wise council, we gave the title of chief to someone who had neither wisdom nor bravery. He is as he States A god fearing man. Now as we listen to his fearful council we the tribe have become a nation of fearful children .Gathered in the Brotherhood Of FEAR.

These are the thoughts and council of lee,

Author's Notes: This should be given careful introspection. as no teaching should accepted without inspection of worth. If you have any thoughts to add I welcome your council. Spicedragon@aol.com

posted March 11 2009 . And so it has come to pass we have became a broken nation following a man who uses fear as good council.
