The Old Man of the Forest

by Cassie Alaina
 Age Group: Adult

I was walking down a wooded path this is my second home then I ran across something That I did not know
I got alittle closer to see what I could see I blinked, and blinked again I just couldn't believe.
There was a small Old Man sitting in a chair this wouldn't have been weird but he was floating in the air!
The chair was rocking gently it was sparkleing baby blue I thought he had no feet but really his shoes were just the same color blue.
On his lap laid an orange carpet bag I stared at him in shock as he tossed me a silver box I tried to open it, but it had a lock.
I looked up at his little crocked grin question marks all over my face "Where is the key?" I asked "point me to the place"
There was a glint in his eye lifting up a shaking finger he tapped his boney chest I placed my hand over my heart I could feel where the key rest
I pulled out the skelliton key, and held it up the light passed through, splattering rainbows everywhere the old man was staring but I was to mezmorized to care
I finally awoke from my daze Then I raised the silver box The key entered and slowly turned. Then to my surpize a shiny fog seept out, prancing in the air taking form of the fox
I was emersed, but I could see the Old Man turn to leave an ancient oak door, he showered with knocks time reversed, his wrinkled face turned young, "You can never tell what One's key unlocks"
