Oceans

The dark struggles to keep me...
Threatens my light.
But I kick, and struggle, with all my might.
Gods, I silently scream,
Help me breath.
The light gets closer,
Will I break? Will I sink?
The light grows clearer.
But one more struggle,
My greatest fears
Grab at me.
Wishing gets me nowhere,
But hoping may.
I have yet to know.
Will I break the surface?
The first breath is always the sweetest.
