Amazing Moon (tune of Amazing Grace)

Amazing Moon, how bright your light
That sails above the trees
In silver tones your music drifts
Along the summer breeze
Amazing Sun, how high you climb
Midsummer’s Fire to light
In golden tides of shim’ring warmth
The Harvest to bring nigh.
Amazing lights in heavenly lines
Like pearls shine on a string
Your tides and blessings give us hope
The Turning Wheel to sing.
Amazing Queen of Night so dark
Your glowing orb we see
You move the tides and raise the Power
And wrought such change in me.
Amazing Lord of Corn and Green
Your body laid so low
At Harvest time we mourn you not
It was your time to go.
Amazing Air, Fire Water and Earth
You build the Circle round
At Solstice and at Equinox
The Heavenly Lights shine down.

Originally written in 1992 but parts were lost and I had to rewrite it a couple times.
Author's Notes: No matter the musical medium, when this melody plays, I listen. It remains one of the only songs I can hear on bagpipes and it brings me to tears. Must be the Scots/Irish in me.
