The secrets of ages you keep
Under Spanish Moss gray
Back in the swamps so deep
Where we all loved to play
With happy voices you rang
And you swelled with our love
Under your trees our family sang
Innocent as the dove
Your colors were oh so green
Both in wood and field
Beauty to be seen
And destinies to build
Be now a blessing to our remembrance
Deep in your Southern sauna
In your forest dense
Oh sweet Bogue Homa
Author's Notes: Bogue Homa is the place in Southern Mississippi in the community of Logtown where my family settled when they migrated here from Denmark. I wrote this in honor of that place and in honor of family. Nothing is more dear on this earth than our family be it our blood relations and our friends or Nature itself.
