A Winter's Light

The Sun hides in the lap of the Mother
His Light contained by the shadow of the Earth
The Horned One stands near to welcome another
As her loins finally open and give birth.
Welcome Golden Child of Wonder
Welcome timeless Son of Light
As you cry out and Time begins
The Wheel turns once more away from Night
Born into Winter's cold
Crying out in the depths of the Night
Far away the drums begin to rumble
As the Sun rises on the dawn shining bright
The Wheel turns again and Earth is saved
The New Year begins and our way is paved
Bathed in new light the World sings
Secure in the blessing of the coming Spring.

Author's Notes: Composed after we had to cancel our Yule gathering due to inclement weather, very cold, wet, and icy. But the Wheel turns no matter if we stop. Life goes on...Blessed be.
