Come Now the Darkness

Come now the darkness,
Enfold us with love;
The sunlight fades,
With the moonrise above;
Bask in its glowing
A reflection of the past;
Time only passes,
Not one moment lasts.
Libra holds us,
In balance enfolds us;
Her arms are equal,
Her hands are strong.
The world is flaming,
As the fire burns;
The harvest will fall
As the Great Wheel turns.
Abundance around us,
Our thanks are raised;
As the corn is cut down,
Our King is praised!
The Mother surrenders
Her mate for her son;
For she knows she will join him
When the Wheel’s turn is done.
Come now the darkness.
The night’s quiet song;
We learn our own secrets
In Her dark velvet arms.
Ponder the starlight,
The dust of her feet;
The seeds of her Spirit,
Sow the green grass so sweet.
Come now the darkness,
Enfold us with love;
As the sunlight fades
See the moon rise above.
Welcome the darkness
Be not afraid;
We go to our rest
As a new world is made.
Let darkness take you
Open the door
Welcome what finds you
Take it into your core
For it is the darkness
Where Her Work is done;
Where shadow and light
Meld into one.
Come now the darkness,
The path is our own;
A spiral to union
It welcomes us home.

Author's Notes: Just a little poem about welcoming the dark half of the year. It is a time of winding down and turning inward. So many of us fear anything to do with the darkness....our own or the idea of it in anything or anyone else. It is part of life and must be assimilate for us to be whole.
