Pandora Takes a Peek

by Nathaviel

Age Group: Adult

Ah the boy, so crazed he was, that saw them in the air.
The aliens, the man from Oz, the witch, the dragon’s lair.
No such things, can surely be, per laws and sacred books.
For in the wor (l) d of gods, you see, rules petty thieves and crooks.
In wor (l) d of Thoth, of Mercury, of Hermes, of 3 veils,
In the end, of light you see, the darkness; it prevails.

The darkness; it prevails.

Ah the girl, possessed she was, that danced about the flame.
The demons, and the devils, and the numbers of his name.
No such thoughts should turn to deeds, of passions or of lust.
With the blade, the trident, spade, the sword... we make our thrust.
Hail to Ra, Apollo too! Oh Michael take our blame.
The demons rise, in flame you see, that burn a sacred name.

That burn a sacred name.

Ah the boy, that swam in dreams, deep waters of the loon.
As crazy as a wolf that howls upon a curséd moon.
No such things should come to pass... impossible it seems.
For in the world, of clay you see, they dam our precious streams.
Poseidon drowns, and turns to dust; upon a cross, he thirst.
Filled by grail or cauldron brew… our spirits oh they burst.

Our spirits oh they burst.

Ah the girl, who kissed the snake, when he first fell to earth.
She is the womb, of life you see, the tomb of infant birth.
No such things, should form you see, from sin and rotten fruit.
For from the seeds, come other trees, and knowledge they uproot.
On the blooms, of Apple trees, there comes a gentle breeze.
A frosty giant, ever comes, and withers earthly trees.

And withers earthly trees.

Ah the gods, so cruel they are, they weigh upon the soul.
A titan brings a pagan flame, and gods fall as we roll...
The dice, we gamble, is it sin…or ego brings the fall?
Of man or angel, on this earth, whom pagan names we call.
No such things, should surely be… such folly, yet we seek.
The answer is before us, and Pandora takes a peek.

Pandora takes a peek.
