Pride

The flame is always burning; princes yearn for but a crown,
And lotuses are blooming ‘neath a virgin wedding-gown.
Who would wear the white of old… those heathens of the past?
They would choose iniquit’way and be a lesser caste.
I am all that matters, all that matters is but me.
You are but a sheep/ my will is done/ so mote it be!
Of gods and men, for all are one, no matter what the name.
You’ll find a witch, a priest, a Jew…They’ll gladly take the blame.
The greatest sin of all you see, this secret I confide...
In Kali-dance, the ego falls… the angel’s sin was pride.
Proud, for he is greater, than I am! (that’s jealousy)
Spinning spider-webs of sin within the sinner’s sea.
See the serpent hissing, he is hissing in your ear,
Lusting for a cherry filled with knowledge held so dear.
If you knew it all, well then those parts you better hide.
Fig leaves fall, upon the ground, revealing inner pride.
I am all that matters, all that matters is but me…
You are but a sheep/ my will is done/ so mote it be!
