Comparative Religion

Do you hear that sound? Is that a trumpet over there,
Or conch of Shiva blasting off the demons from his lair?
The serpent is arising from its long forbidden sleep.
It climbs upon the spine, unto the heavens, from the deep.
I am aware of no thing, and yet I am all things too.
Dancing in the eye, of Kali-Ma… she watches you.
Surrender to temptation, in this gravity I bind,
Bind you in the darkness of this shell you call a mind.
I am all things about you in this long, chaotic dance
Of snake, much like the one, who bid you eat within his trance.
Don’t listen to his lies; ego is no thing if not pride.
Taste forbidden fruit; know why true knowledge one would hide.
If you know a truth, then simply no thing else exists
But the world around you; you have traveled through the mists.
Hood of snake expanding in my vast-eternal mind,
Shed this mortal shell, in which a life you surely bind.
You and I are only pilgrims on this vast, incarnate ride.
Strap me down, or I’ll commit paternal matricide.
I place my head upon your lap; Great Mother take my head,
As I place it in the gallows… as I lay me down to bed.
