Poem of the Nine Woods (modified)

This is an attempt to make the "Poem of the Nine Woods" a little more even in flow (for my style anyways) from the form it's normally seen in, as well as adding a bit of Druid lore based of the Oracle of the Trees in Douglas Monroe's "The Lost Books of Merlyn". I'd credit the author of the orginal poem as well, but all I can find is "anonymous". Keep in mind instead of being quite as literal, this version is more of a mnemonic device to remember certain key words associated with each tree.

To light the fires, understood, there are nine trees of sacred wood.
First created, noble Birch, implores the soul to quickly search
For knowledge of the mighty Oak that warming fires need a poke.
The mystic burns the Rowan tree, for life to bloom and magick free.
The Willow weeps at waterside, for ones who reached the other side.
Passion does the Hawthorn stray, with lasting flame and dancing Fae.
With charming Hazel wisdom grows, symbols burn, and knowledge flows.
Blesséd Apple holds the seed; with fruit the serpent knowledge freed.
Grapes that grow upon the Vine, bring drunken pleasure so divine.
Immortal Fir, so evergreen, in savage wood grows unforeseen.
But should you burn the Elder tree, unlucky curse shall fall on thee.
