A New Day Begins (for the Winter Solstice)

The sands of Summer are chilled
As the snows of winter descend
All the land has gone silent
In the mundane world of men.
For the Lord of Life is sleeping
Safe in the Lady's womb.
The Horned God on his throne seated
In Winter's silent tomb
But a rumbling sounds among the hills
As the Earth turns from the Sun,
The mighty axis is slowing
The Turning of the Wheel has begun!
The womb swells and opens
Spilling forth the Waters of Life
The Horned One is now the Sun Child
Coming forth into Light.
The Sun Child cries aloud
Waking in the dark Sacred Night
The waiting Earth is Illumined
By the warm Sun's shining Light
Hope returns with the Light
The Lady's womb bears fruit
The Light spreads with the Dawning
And the whole world follows suit.
Time is once again renewed
The Wheel has slid into place
The Sun will shine warm again
From the depths of outer space.
In grateful strains the song begins
To herald in the Sun
Our world will once more bring forth Life
As a new day's Dawn begins.
No longer does the dark night hold us back
Shackled by ghosts of the past
In glowing fusion Potential meets
And mates with Opportunity at last.
Wandering without the Light
Our search has brought us Home
Family sought is now truly found
We are now among our own.
For a Tree has many branches
Some knarled and old, some new
Now we shall learn the Old Ways
And do things as the Old Ones do.
No more shall we wander confused
Lost Between here and there
What was is no more and is gone
In the void between there and here.
In more ways than one Light is Dawning
Love and light triumph over Poison and Pain
No more do lies kill progress,
Life once more grows again.
