My Declaration Of Independence

I will no longer change
Who or what I am
In order to
Be accepted,
To be appreciated,
To fit in.
I am proud of
Who and what
I am
And of what
I am in the
Process of becoming.
If the pathway
Of my life
Diverges from
That which you
Think I should follow,
I make
No apologies.
Either accept me
As I am
Or let me go.
I must follow
The path that
My heart tells me
Is right ~ for me.
