I'll hide behind my mask
I'll pretend that I'm okay.
as I'm waiting for today to pass
I'll act as if nothing's changed.
Nobody will see
I'll hide it all away.
I'll pretend that I'm the same old me
and lie another day.
Beautiful shards
of broken young hearts.
I'll hide the pain
Forget his name
and wait for better days.
As I depart
my world falls apart.
I'll fight the past behind my mask
and try for a fresh start.
I'll hide behind my mask
and pretend I'm okay.
I'll look for comfort in this new begining
as I tell you nothing's changed
You will never see
I'll hide it all inside.
you'll never know what's wrong with me
or see the tears I cry.

Author's Notes: I'm out on my own now, and although my family doesn't exactly know it, I'm scared. Scared of so many things. Scared of loosing my best friend because of the changes in me that I'm not able to stop. Scared of connections with family that have been almost completely severed. Many things.Although I know that it is for the best for me, I'm still scared. And for a while at least I'll have to hide behind a mask, to protect who is truely with in. Now more than ever I hide behind the mask I wear. So that people do not see the pain and the sorrow that Chris has wroght upon my heart and soul.
