~Dark Days~

~Dark Days~
Dark dark days from down deep inside,
no where to run nowhere to hide.
All is gone, nothing left inside, eyes are hollow, I've cried and cried.
No love to get but too much to give, and now it seems I have no way to live.
Shadows move to my darken room, as I pull out my answer from all of the gloom.
Just a second of more pain and then no more doom, I pull the trigger and never hear the boom...Panisch~
Author's Notes: This poem was written when I got the news of my impending divorce. I was in recovery at Fort Sam Houston Hospital In San Antonio after having been in combat in Grenada and shot. That's right I was serving my country, freash out of combat, had been shot, and I got divorce papers from my first wife because she could not deal with our life together such as it was...Needless to say suicide was looking pretty good right then... However let me say this... I am thankful everyday for not going through with such a self serving act. It was wrong then and it is always wrong to take your own life.
