A Sense of Death

Feel me
Smell me
Hear me
See me
Touch me
Taste me
Follow me….
You inhale the bitter sweetness of the air…your first breath, so it begins…
Feel me…. caressing you softly against the sands of time.
Smell me….my breath heavy against your skin as each day passes you by.
Hear me….whispering sweet nothings of the forbidden fruit that lies ahead.
See me….come ever closer to you as you ripen for my bed.
Touch me… as I become your periphery, waiting for you with the patience of eternity.
Taste me….as your eyes alight with the knowledge of your time.
Follow me….to your beautiful afterlife.

Author's Notes: Despite what several friends have thought about this poem, it is not meant to be morbid. It just came to me one day, and I just absolutely love it and am thankful I wrote it down as it came to me. It is copyrighted as I am collecting several of my poems for publishing soon.
