The Fire

Fires consume the forgotten
The ones whose voices we no longer hear
Inside yourself the truth is revealed
To the past that only you hold dear
To everyone you are a shadow of your former self
Only because they are no longer your puppeteer
You belong to someone else
Someone else who holds the strings that control and steer
I have the scissors in my hands but I can't cut the strings
The strings that hold you
I’m sorry but you are the forgotten
And you have to do what your asking me to do
Lose yourself in the fire
Cut your own strings and be free
The fires of passion and love
Allow yourself to be what you want to be
Even though it may hurt to control yourself
You will be fine in the end
For you have the will of life
And with it you can mend
Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
That’s what I always say
Its something you must learn
And live by day to day
Come walk with me forgotten ones
For I know the way
I used to be forgotten
But now in the fires I lay
I know the truth inside myself
And no longer hold the past dear
For now I have a beautiful future
Without a puppeteer
