Rewind those old home movies
Fast forward to the best time
To when she was still alive
To when life was at it's fullest
To when summer was happy
Watch her dance
Filling the grass with song
Her feet lightly tapping against the soil
The flowers swaying to her song
The earth getting wrapped up in her beauty
Still the movie
Just to catch one last glimpse of her
Feel your heart beating faster
Just hoping that she's there
That this is all a dream
Take a deep breath
Try and catch her scent
Feel the tears rush down
As you are over come with memories
Memories of winter taking her
Freezing her forever in time
Stopping her heart
And turning it cold
Her body lifeless in the water
Trapped beneath the glass
Lost forever in the other world
Memories of the rain
As her casket was carried down the isle
One by one saying good bye
One by one kissing death
The wind carrying away the last of her tears
Memories of her being lowered into the ground
Forever being laid to rest
Forever the blue tint to her lips staying
Forever her lifeless eyes staring into darkness
Forever the earth holding her in it's cold embrace
Memories of a year later
Walking alone down the path
Clutching a teddy bear
Falling to your knees
Staring at a peice of stone
Marking where the life stopped
Softly whispering
" Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust, you are no more"
Kissing the headstone
Leaving the bear
You slowly turn and walk away
Author's Notes: I wrote this... one day when I was in a strange mood. The saddest thing is that a few days later a close family friend died. I still to this day can not explain why I wrote it. But it is one of my very favourite poems that I have written.
It is more then two years old. Please, do not steal it.
