Tree of Life

Age Group: Adult
I am not silver and I am not gold,
but I am the key to futures untold.
My roots reach down low,
to the land of the dead.
While my limbs reach up high,
by heaven they're fed.
The darkness has waxed,
and the sunlight has waned.
My leaves all have fallen,
and my sap has been stained.
My life has been reaped,
and to death I must go.
To the garden,
were the bones of the white lilies grow.
But the sky will turn,
from black and to red.
And the new fallen snow,
upon which you tread.
Will melt and will flow,
deep down to my roots.
And rise up again,
with the green of my shoots.
The ancient sky wheel,
shall turn once again.
And the old sleeping sun,
shall rise in heaven.
So light the red flame,
and raise up your hearts.
To the end of the cold,
the dark.
Author's Notes: This was the main piece for my 2011 Yule ritual. Feel free to use this for Yule or earth based spells.
