This Gift/curse

This gift, this curse,
I see it everyday.
Sometimes I feel worse
sometimes I wish it would
GO AWAY.
The Goddess Blessed me,
She gave me Bipolar.
She gave me insight
Into life that's unique.
The curse comes late at
night. Late when I'm alone.
Sometimes I just want to die
Sometimes I just want to cry.
Then the new day comes
And her gift comes back
Happiness in seeing dawn,
Gladness night is gone.
Grey wind blows at me
Trying to pull me down
Trying to make me go back
Back to hate and fear.
Dreams have faded
And flared anew.
Only to die again.
I need Her guidance.
I need Her hope.
I need His strength,
I need His love.
Author's Notes: This is my daily life. I live with bipolar disorder every day. Hopefully, someday I will know the fullness that comes with a truly contained disease.
